Pelvic floor: what happens in menopause

When the cycle finally disappears, the muscles become less tonic, causing the bladder to sag and lose its alignment with the urethra, the channel that directs urine outwards.
This can be very uncomfortable for women. Because they can't empty their bladder completely, every time they go to the toilet, some of their urine will get stuck inside the bladder and they will leak involuntarily.
This is made much worse if the woman is overweight, as this puts a strain on her lower body, causing the symptoms of stress urinary incontinence, and she may leak a few drops of urine in the vicinity of the toilet, or even if she just feels the water running.

So what can you do?

Our Benessere in Menopausa®️ programme provides active support for this particular problem, through the rebalancing and elasticisation of the pelvic floor, by means of:

  • plantar reflexology
  • psychological support
  • osteopathic re-education
  • bladder gymnastics through contraction and relaxation exercises
  • specific diet plan and functional beauty treatments combined to reduce overweight.

The focus of our team is to help women experience this phase without discomfort, to make them feel at ease in their daily life with the community, and also with their partner during sexual intercourse, by promoting, with the help of these combined methods, the flow of blood to the pelvic muscles, improving vaginal lubrication.
